Home Birds is a new theatre project about the places we come from, the places we leave, and the ones that somehow stay lodged inside us.
It began with my own urge to go back to my childhood home and see what was still there – in the house, in the street, and in me.
Using stories gathered from people across the North East as well as my own experience of returning to my childhood home, Home Birds explores memory, belonging and that powerful, sometimes ridiculous, sometimes heartbreaking pull of home.
